Itinerary:

Come  hike with us at the beautiful Jones Bridge Unit of the Chattahoochee River NRA on Monday morning as we cover about 5 miles at a  moderate pace. The trails take in lots of views of the Chattahoochee, which is always a delight. We will make a couple of stops along the way to rehydrate and to take in the beautiful views.  

 
We will walk along the river towards the pond as well as explore the woods and meadows throughout.  We’ll loop around the back end of the park to make our way back to the parking lot. The trails are relatively flat but do expect several hills for about 150 feet of elevation. 
 
We will meet in the parking lot at the very end of the long entrance road.  Restrooms may still be locked due to the COVID19 virus. 
 
We will start promptly at 10:00 am.   Please arrive 10 minutes early to allow time for introductions and to pay the $5 parking fee (via your smartphone)  if you don't have an annual pass.  (Passes may be purchased in advance online at https://www.recreation.gov/sitepass/2626.)
 
Up to 3 dogs are welcome, but in accordance with park rules, they must be kept on a leash.  Dog owners should walk ahead or at the back of the group to avoid tripping other members.
 
***Don’t leave any valuables visible in your vehicles.
 
These trails can get very muddy, so this event will be cancelled for rain.

From GA 400, take exit 7a, and head East 4.1 miles through the intersection of Holcomb Bridge and Nesbitt Ferry Road to the junction of Barnwell Road. Turn left on Barnwell Rd, and travel approx 2 miles (be sure not to turn into the first gate, but go to the second entrance) to Jones Bridge Branch which will be on the right. Turn in and go a little over 1/2 mile to large parking lot.  (Pass the parking lot on the right as you're driving in and keep going to the end of the road.)
