Itinerary:

Cloudland Canyon State Park is one of my favorite places in Georgia.  Join me as I put my own twist on an AOC favorite.

We will start our adventure at the Cloudland Canyon Interpretive Center Parking area. We will take the Overlook Trail away from the falls until the intersection with Bear Creek Backcountry Trail. We will descend into the canyon where we will rock hop across the creek a few times as we make our way around the loop to enjoy views from "the other side" of the canyon. Retracing our steps back to the parking area, we head towards the falls, down all of the steps to enjoy views of Cherokee and Hemlock Falls. This time of year the falls should have a good flow! We will then head down Sittons Gulch Trail for some beautiful creek views. After we complete this trail we will retrace our steps back to the car.  Somewhere along our trek, we will break for lunch and laughs.

**UPDATE**

Recent reports indicate that one of the creek crossings will require water shoes.  It will be too cold for a creek crossing, so I have updated the route.

This is a strenuous hike with over 3000 ft of gain and requires recent D5 experience. If you don't have recent experience, you will be moved to the waiting list. Please email the trip leader if you have recent experience outside of the AOC.
