Itinerary:
The weather is looking great for Thursday. This is a lovely trail on a segment of The Pinhoti Trail. We will walk through a beautiful area with ferns and tall trees. We will start the first loop counter clockwise. There are 2 waterfalls on the trail and an observation deck above the falls. It is about 1.4 miles to the falls gaining 439 feet of elevation. There are steps getting up to the falls. We will then start the John’s Mountain loop counterclockwise. The observation deck is closed at John’s Mountain due to vandalism but we will still get a great view. There is a little over 1023 feet of elevation gain. We will hike these loops at a moderate speed stopping for photos and water. This will not be a fast hike. We will take in the beautiful scenery. There is some rocky and possibly muddy terrain. These trail are highly rated. Masks are recommended but not mandatory while hiking. Please maintain social distancing.
