Itinerary:

Come join me at this beautiful, seldom used, hiking trail.   There is plenty of free parking, lots of elevation changes, beautiful views, and a quarry pond with interesting rock outcroppings for photos!  THIS IS NOT A BEGINNER HIKE.  Elevation gain is over 1,000 feet.

The trail features a 4.7 mile path crossing seven rustic footbridges over Pine Log Creek. From two overlooks, hikers can view Pine Log Mountain - one of the highest elevations in Bartow County's Appalachian foothills - and the site of the Pine Log Cherokee Indian Village. The trail system includes two loops east and west and is rated moderate. Some of the terrain is rugged, and if we do the West Loop twice, that will bring the difficulty level up quite a bit.  It's not an easy hike, but we'll keep a moderate pace and stop for water as needed, so if you can go the distance on hills, you should be able to handle it. The eastern loop takes hikers by an early CCC quarry pond for picturesque views.

Pine Log Creek is about a 33 mile drive from the Busbee Park & Ride on Barrett Parkway.
