FULL DISCLOSURE:

Yes, the pandemic is REAL, so during this event:

  1. Please wear a MASK COVERING THE NOSE at all times, and
  2. Practice your best social-distancing techniques.

If you are unable (or unwilling) to wear a mask or to social-distance, please do not sign up.

The plan is to de-stress on this after-work, dog-friendly, moderately-paced hike at Sweetwater Creek State Park's Yellow and Orange trails. While most of the trail is downhill or on level ground, there are sections of moderate elevation gain so if you have difficulty going uphill or have a medical condition, this is not the hike for you. Here are some details:

Yellow/Orange Trail: 4-mile loop. Blazed orange/yellow. Rated moderate to difficult for normal people.

The Yellow Trail splits off the Red Trail at the bottom corner of the parking area. The trail drops into the creek valley, heading upstream to the bridge across Sweetwater Creek. After crossing the bridge, we immediately pick up the Orange trail and huff 'n puff our way up to the top of the ridge. Once there, we'll regroup, complete the orange loop and when we run into the intersection of the Orange and Yellow, we'll take the western portion of the Yellow trail down to the bridge and back to the safety of our cars.
