Itinerary:

This is our 2nd hike of the day to celebrate el Cinco de Mayo.  Join us on one of them, two of them, or even all of them if you like!  Wear a sombrero, and get into the spirit of the day!

We'll take this hike at a brisk moderate pace, therefore, it is NOT a hike for beginners who can't maintain that pace for 2 hours (with few stops).  Keep in mind that the terrain throughout this hike is often hilly, with rocks and roots that can trip up inexperienced hikers. We'll start at the FIRST parking lot on the left, as you pass through the entrance. Bathrooms are available at the Visitor Center, about a mile from the entrance.  Allow time before the hike to drive there and back to the upper lot.

We'll start the hike promptly at 10:30 am, so arrive at least 10 minutes early to meet everyone before we start, pay for your parking pass if you don't have an annual pass,  and use the bathrooms.  There's a parking fee of $5.00 in this park which can be paid for in advance online (https://www.nps.gov/chat/planyourvisit/fees.htm) or with your smartphone at the kiosk in the parking lot.
