Tesnatee Gap to Neels Gap(Walesi Yi) is a well maintained section of the AT with rocky trails, gorgeous views and lots of climbs. The name Tesnatee is derived from Cherokee language meaning "Wild Turkey". From Tesnatee Gap, we will enjoy the views at Cowrock mountain. Cowrock offers views of Yonah Mt., Brasstown Bald & Town Creek gorge. At mile 1.8, we will hit Baggs Creek Gap and then Wolf Lauren Top (mile 2.3). At the 3rd mile will approach Rock Spring Top, which will run us into Rock Swain Gap (3.8). Level land mountain, an open area on a crest will run us into Bull Gap (mile 4.9) and finally Neels Gap (mile 6).
This is an out and back trail. We will take a lunch break at Neels Gap. We will maintain a moderate pace of 2.7 MPH Elevation gain: aprox 3100ft
