Itinerary:

This hike is listed as a D3, but it is actually a D2, D3, or D4 depending on how you would like to approach it. We will be taking three different trails to the top, each time looping back down through the parking area. So if anyone has had enough at those points, they are welcome to call it a day, and get whatever level of workout they'd like.

Each loop is roughly 2.5 miles with about 450 feet of elevation gain. For the maximum workout, the full three loops put it into light D4 territory at about 8 miles and 1350+ feet of total ascent.

This is a nice park with some scenic views of the distant Blue Ridge mountains to the north. With these storms blowing through, I bet we'll have clear air and superb visibility.   All of the trails are well graded with relatively even terrain. There are a couple of good steep sections though that will get your heart rate up.  We'll be going at a moderate to quick pace on the flats and downhills.  You can take the climbs at whatever pace you'd like.

There are restrooms and a water fountain at the parking area (where we loop through).
