Itinerary:

Please join me at Johnson Ferry North

There are a few creek crossings so your hiking boots may get a bit wet - nothing crazy, just muddy wet soles.  some of the adventurous may wish to cross the creek walking tightrope style on the pipes that crisscross the creek.  There is construction still in process (I believe) so not sure what to expect.  I heard that there was plans on removing the pipes or building bridges - please be ready for anything.

Expect hike to be just under 5 miles -  Not a hard, super fast hike.  Virtually flat trail - only obstacles are the creek crossings.

Parking $5 for the day unless you have a CRNRA annual pass in your vehicle

Pass can be purchased at the Kiosk in the parking lot - I undersatnd that they don't take cash any longer - you should be able to scan a code with your phone and pay electroncially. or prior to hike go to this website and purchase a daily or annual pass   https://www.nps.gov/chat/planyourvisit/fees.htm

COVID-19 - please be respectful to AOC members and other hikers on the trails - keep social distance at least six feet between yourself and your fellow hikers.  Please be advised that attendees of AOC events should have face coverings on their person, in the event they are unable to maintain a physical distance of 6 feet.

How to Get There:
Event Directions:

The Johnson Ferry North trailhead is located near where Johnson Ferry Road crosses the Chattahoochee River.  The park is located on the Cobb County side of the river and the park entrance is directly across JFR from Columns Drive.  There is a traffic light at this intersection.

Address (not sure if it's 100% accurate) 301 Johnson Ferry Rd SE, Marietta, GA 30068

If you are coming from East Cobb, the park is on the left side of JFR immediately before crossing the river.  If coming from Sandy Springs, turn right immediately after crossing the river. You will see the parking pay station immediately in front of you and a gate.  Drive through the gate and proceed to the back parking lot where we will meet.  This is a CRNRA unit so parking is $5 cash (or use your annual CRNRA pass).
