Itinerary:

Join us on a weekday adventure in the Smoky Mountains!

We will be hiking on the Cherokee side of the park and avoid Gatlinburg completely.

1. Bradley Fork and Chasteen Creek Loop

2. Kephart Loop with Charlies Bunion

This hike features much of what makes the Smokies famous. It offers several miles of scenic creek-side hiking, old-growth forests, a rare pebble beach beside Bradley Fork and a few very nice cascades. There are no big views on this trail, but bear sightings do happen.

We start at the Smokemount Campground where we will hop on the Bradley Fork Trail. After about a mile we will come to the junction with the Chasteen Creek Trail, a slight right turn and we will start on this trail. After about 4 miles of moderate climb we will meet up with the Highes Ridge Trail. At the 8 mile mark we meet back up with the Bradley Fork Trail and our descent begins. We will pass a few cascades as we work our way back to the cars to complete our lollipop adventure. Somewhere along the way we will stop to enjoy our lunch.

After the hike we will head to Cherokee for a well earned dinner.

This is a difficult D5 event, recent D5 experience is required to join the fun.
