Itinerary:

Join us on a weekday adventure in the Smoky Mountains!

We will be hiking on the Cherokee side of the park and avoid Gatlinburg completely.

1. Bradley Fork and Chasteen Creek Loop

2. Kephart Loop with Charlies Bunion

This challenging hike offers an alternative route to Charlies Bunion to avoid the crowds of Newfound Gap. We will start on the Kephart Prong Trail that is adjacent to the Kephart Prong. The Prong will serenade us for the 2 mile jaunt to Kephart Shelter. At the shelter a right turn will take us to the Grassy Branch Trail for a second round of creek serenades. When we meet the Dry Sluice Gap Trail, a left turn will keep us headed up and in the right direction. Quickly we will meet up with the AT and the side trail to Charlies Bunion. After enjoying the views and our lunches we will continue on the AT until the intersection with the Sweat-Heifer Creek Trail... what a great name! this trail will take us back to our cars to complete our lollipop adventure.

This is a difficult D6 event, recent D5/D6 experience is required to join the fun.
