Itinerary:

This is an urban hike mainly on paved streets (Some sections have sidewalks) with small amount of local neighborhood car traffic. There are several uphills and our pace will be moderate to fast at times, depending on group. If you are looking for a flatter hike, slower pace, and park trails, this is probably not the hike for you.

Looking for a pleasant Sunday evening urban hike to cap off your weekend festivities? If so, join us for this 7.4 mile urban loop hike, with hills and curves, around Berkeley Lake. After the first loop (3.7 miles), we will hike the loop in reverse (3.7 miles).  Our starting and finish point with be the Berkeley Lake City Hall parking lot, across the street from Lake Berkely Chapel.

This is a paved street hike with only a partial sidewalk section, so please be sure to wear reflective or bright clothing. There is some local neighborhood road traffic, but generally very light. You are responsible for your own safety.

Lake Berkeley has been named a Tree City USA for 18 years!  This neighborhood lake area tends to get cooler in the evening, sometimes with a gentle breeze.  The surrounding area is pleasantly shaded and a place you can capture the sunset and natural reflections off the lake. As an added bonus you will most likely spot deer around dusk.

Additional Notes:

Itinerary is subject to change before and/or during the event.

This hike is considered harder compared to hiking Jones Bridge Park, Beltline, Piedmont Park, or Cochran Shoals hike - not flat.

Event finishing time can fluctuate and dependent on the group hiking speed and other circumstances, so please be flexible.
