Itinerary:

Sweetwater Creek Park - We will start at the visitors center and hike various trails (white, red, brown and others - and some trails that take us a bit outside of the park) for about a 8.5 mile hike. Estimated time about 3 1/2 hours though may be slightly under/over.   Very popular park so we are going to get started early hopefully to avoid big crowds.  Lots of rain this week which should make Sweetwater Creek swell and rage and that's when it's my favorite time to hike the red trail.

We will hike at a steady moderate pace with a few water breaks.  THere is some tricky footwork required on the rocks/boulders (red trail). We will take uphills, rocks, obstacle areas slow.    We will be hiking at a moderate pace - not super fast, not slow.

$5.00 fee for parking pass unless you have an annual GA State Parks pass which is easiest if you purchase in advance online - click link below (there is also kiosk in the parking lot to purchase parking pass)

COVID-19 - please be respectful to AOC members and other hikers on the trails - keep social distance at least six feet between yourself and your fellow hikers.  Please be advised that attendees of AOC events should have face coverings on their person, in the event they are unable to maintain a physical distance of 6 feet.
