Please join me for a hike on the beautiful trails of the Island Ford unit of the Chattahoochee River Natl Recreation Area (CRNRA).   We will be hiking at a steady pace on the faster side of D2 along the river and up into the woods stopping to hydrate and gather up.  There are some moderate climbs but nothing too hard.  We will not be hiking the lollipop loop.  Please be sure you can keep a steady pace because we have to be back before dark.  Please bring a small flashlight or headlamp if you have one.

We will meet at the Visitor Center.   See below for directions.

Please note that there is a $5 parking fee unless you have an annual Chattahoochee River Rec parking pass.  Be prepared to use your phone to pay for parking since the kiosks are no longer accepting cash.  .

Please bring water to hydrate during the hike.

The visitors center will be closed at the start of our hike so no bathrooms are available.  Center closes at 5pm

Required Items to Bring:

Hiking shoes
Water to keep you hydrated
Epi-pen if neeeded
Smartphone to pay for parking unless you have an annual pass.

Recommended Items to Bring:
Use our Event Checklists to make sure you have everything you need.
