Itinerary:

Shirley W. is ready to ease back into hiking after four months of recuperating from a broken tibia and fibula.  So this hike is be short and decidedly slow.  East Cobb Park is a local park that folks love for the wide asphalt loop around the park, the children's playground, the pavilions, the open grassy areas, and the wooded trails that can add some interesting variety to the route for those who want to be more adventurous..  If one ventures across a creek bridge to the far end of the park, it actually connects to Fuller's Park, which is a large athletic park off Robinson Road.  For this event, we'll stick to the asphalt loop which is smooth and free of obstacles.

We'll gather in the upper parking lot near the pavilion by the stairs; we'll then make our way down to the asphalt path.   We'll walk around the loop  a couple of times, depending on our time.

This is a great hike for true beginners and for those who can't handle elevation or speed.  It will NOT be a hike for those of you who want to get in a workout.  (You can jog around the loop after we finish our hike if you want to work up a sweat!) We won't be going fast, and the route isn't challenging.  Dogs are welcome, but must be kept on leash at all times.

There are bathrooms close to the park entrance.
