This note is here so that you can make an informed decision. When a Trip Leader isn't personally familiar with a trip, there is an increased chance of things not going as planned and you need to be prepared. The Trip Leader may have additional details in the itinerary.

Itinerary:

Join me as I continue my trek down the Talladega National Forest on the Pinhoti Trail. This trail is in the Central timezone, but all times listed are in the EASTERN timezone.

Choccolocco Creek... I don't know what the name means, but I am crazy for chocolate, so let's go with that.

This section of the Pinhoti doesn't have any big climbs, but we will be along the creek and go next to a lake and move quickly through this section of the Talladega National Forest. We will be crossing the creek at least once and I expect to be able to rock hop across, but I would recommend water shoes just in case.

I have never been on this section of trail, but adjacent sections are very scenic and peaceful and I expect this section will be the same. We will pick a scenic spot for lunch.

This is a long D5 hike and we will be averaging over 3 mph on this trek, recent D5 experience is required to join the fun.
