Itinerary:

Amicalola Falls State Park is nationally acclaimed park. Northbound hikers of Appallachian Trail uses 8-miles approach trail from this park to reach Springer Mountain and then they technically start their AT journey onward. Len Foote Hike Inn is a unique facilitiy, approachable through foot traffic only, though managment of this facility uses ATV to bring supplies for their patrons, using a different wider forest trail/raod. Day hikers uses another beautifful trail to reach the Hike Inn and return back to the park very same afternoon, their hike usually start from the top of the falls parking lot in the park. This where we will start our hike and within 5 minutes the trail will split into two, left will take us to Springer (approach Trail)  and right will go to Hike Inn directly. We will take the Approach Trail ie Springer mountain route till reaching the sign saying straight to Springer 3.5 miles and and Right to Hike Inn, 1-mile. At this point we will turn right to get to the hike Inn.

This isn't a speed hike therefore those who are in the beginner D4 stage are most welcome to join.

Once we get to the Hike Inn, we will take a lunch break of about 30 minutes inside Hike Inn Dinning Hall. They don't serve food there but you can have coffee and cookies there, and put some money in the donation jar. Therfore, bring some loose cash.

After our break, we'll return using the traditional 5 mile Len Foote Hike Inn trail and descend to the parking lot.

Remember the $5.00 Cash for parking, or bring your State Parks annual pass.
