Itinerary:

Pls note that there is NO CARPOOL for this event. We will meet at the top of the falls to start the hike at 8.00 am.

This is a good training hike, starting from trail head at the top of the falls and take the AT Approach trail to Springer Mountain.

At mile 4.5 we approach the sign for the Hike Inn. Right turn going to hike Inn and another 3.5 miles straight to the Springer via Nimblewill gap. We will stop for lunch or snacks at the top of Springer. This is an in and out hike. After lunch we will return the same way coming down to the parking lot at the top of the Falls.

THIS IS A MODERATE PACE HIKE, NOT A RACE or COMPETITION

A streneous D5 hike with approx. 3500ft elevation gain therefore prior D5 experience is good. New members are welcome, just send a short note to trip leader about your experience of simillar distance hike or hikes. Existing members transitioning  between D4 & D5 are welcome, you won't be pushed to walk fast.

$5 parking fee applies unless you have a Georgia State Parks annual pass.
