IT'S GO TIME AGAIN....
STRONG, LONG BOAT PADDLERS APPLY

This is what I (and you) have been waiting for:
THE DOUBLE DAM!
This paddle is
all business - it will be an event that will test every facet of your paddling strength, knowledge, skills and ability to adapt to ever changing situations while on the raging Chattahoochee! Safety is paramount as well as team work and motivation...did I mention SAFETY!??! PFDs are to be worn the whole time, additional safety equipment is suggested. If you get hot I'll have a Super Soaker and I'll be happy to cool you down!  LOL

You'll need plenty of food, water & energy for the entire paddle after all it's a challenge, I don't plan to be stopping along the way for food breaks - as we can eat/drink on the float. I mentioned before it's a business trip! I probably won't be the fastest boat on the water, but speed will be in play.
There are some boat ramps & parks along the way if folks needed to use facilities that are a little more civilized than on shore (especially since most of the shoreline is this section is privately owned), conducting "nature breaks" on the float might be an advantage as the day burns on...so stops are not something I want to waste a lot of time with. Communication is key on those too, if not in sight we'll want to know where everyone is and if they stop - so be sure cell is 100% b4 launching and load critical numbers before we launch.
We're going with the flow of course so we might not need to paddle the whole time, but if you expect the worst and hope for the best this will be an event you can talk about at the water cooler on Monday :P I do plan on doing some stretching if we ever see any of the rock formations that are typically available all the way down river...but with Lanier over "pool" and the flow being as it may...that might not happen easily...we'll play that be ear. As we get closer to Norcross and Roswell we all become quite familiar with the launches that have floating dock and cement/rock lauches...so that may prove to be easier..again playing it by ear.
I have launched a few times from ramps up and down the Hootch this winter and there is a TON of mud on the ramps right now and I expect that to be much of the same all the way down river. If you need to exit the river for a nature break, use extreme caution getting in and out of your boats, again communication is critical for our success.

Ask yourself?
Are you up for the CHALLENGE of the DOUBLE DAM?
