Itinerary:

It will be a gorgeous and sunny Sunday - so join me! Spectacular mountain scenery and hiking trails make this one of Georgia’s most popular state parks. At 729 feet, Amicalola Falls is the tallest cascading waterfall in the Southeast.

We will start the hike in the parking lot above the falls (Where the bathrooms are) at 9:30 am. Please be there by 9:15 am for introductions and to get ready!

We will hike the AT Approach Trail and return back via the Len Foote route with an approx. 2,300 ft elevation gain. We will walk at a moderate speed but not too fast with a few stragetic stops to have some water and regroup. A longer stop for our well-deserved lunch break at the Hike Inn is just one highlight we are all looking forward to! (approx. 30-40 minutes)

Please bring adequate food and water and don't count on the Hike Inn to provide it. It is already very hot so have 1.5-2 liters of fluids with you! You cannot participate in this hike if you don't have enough water with you!

You need to have recent D4 experience with the AOC. I will move you to the wait list until you contact me to show that you have adequate experience for this hike. Email me if you aren't sure if you can do this hike or keep up with the group.

Please Note: We will walk at a moderate pace - not too fast, but this is not a super slow hike either. ---  This is not a self-paced hike so you need to stay with the group! Please don't sign up if you need a fast training hike!

There is a $5.00 fee per car for the park. Bring cash since the Visitor's Center does not open until 9:00 am. We cannot wait for people that are late.
