Itinerary:

The Hyde Farm area has a lot to offer for hikers . . .  a beautiful creek (requiring several crossings), a pretty little pond with a fountain, lush plant life, and mostly  soft footing.  Because of the several creek crossings, this hike is NOT recommended for beginners who haven't yet gotten their hiking feet.  Hiking poles and waterproof shoes are recommended for the creek crossings.

To start the hike, we will trek to the Power Cemetery which isn't far from Hyde Farm.  It's a neat little area where we can see some old burial sites.  From there, we'll hike along Mulberry Creek, where we'll make several creek crossings.  There hasn't been any rain in the last few days, so hopefully the water level in the creek will be very low.

We'll eventually get to the North Johnson Ferry trail, where - - if all goes well - - we can hike down to a viewing of the Morgan Falls Dam.  From there, we'll take another route back to our cars.

Since first posting this hike, Holt has graciously agreed to co-lead with me, so all can feel secure that we won't get lost, and we'll get back to our cars pretty much on time!

There is a bathroom in the buildiing next to the parking lot.  Please allow enough time to use it before the hike starts at 10 am. Parking is free, but it may be liimited if there are other visiters to the trail.  Leave home early, so that you can get to the parking lot with time to spare.  Parking is free.

NOTE:  This will be a moderately paced hike. We want to keep our group together, so if you need to go fast or you're a very slow hiker, please don't register for this event.
