Itinerary:

The weather looks good for a D4 hike with 8.2 miles and 2400 ft of elevation gain. Come on out for a figure eight hike around Sawnee Mountain Preserve. We will start the hike on the Ridgeline, Mountainside, and Hilltop Trails and then proceed to the Indian Seats Trail Loop.

Let’s meet near to the restrooms at the beginning of the Ridgeline trail at 2505 Bettis-Tribble Gap Road parking lot.  (Please note that this is NOT the parking lot at the Visitors Center or the Indian Seats parking lot.)

We will proceed up the Hilltop trail making a clockwise loop continuing on the Mountainside trail and the Ridgeline Trail for 5 miles.  Then we will cross the street to hike the Indian Seats Trail Loop, 3.2 miles. The trail will vary from gravel path to a well-worn forest path.

There is a restroom at the parking lot and another just after the five mile mark that we'll pass a couple of times.

Note: If you have not hiked recent D3 and D4 hikes with the AOC, this is NOT a good hike to start with.  I will vet everyone on the hike.

Parking is free and dogs are not permitted at this park.
