Itinerary:
Let's hike Kennesaw mountian! We'll meet at the Kennesaw Mountain National Battlefield Park Visitor Center for a moderately paced hike up Kennesaw Mountain, Little Kennesaw, down to Burnt Hickory Rd, then returning on the Brumby side trail. The initial climbs up Kennesaw will get our cardiovascular going.   At Burnt Hickory Road, We'll turn around and climb partly up Pigeon Hill (site of some of the worst fighting during 1864) then take the first cut-off to the Brumby trail passing the CCC camp constructed during the great depression.
Some of the hike is over difficult, rocky trails - not for the beginner. Recent D2+ experience is required, or send leader reason you feel comfortable doing this hike. The hike should take about 2.5 hours with time for a couple of brief pauses and possible short history talks if folks are interested.
Please arrive early enough for the walk from overflow parking if you don't get a spot in the main lot, and time for introductions giving us an on time departure.  Restrooms are available at the visitor center.
