This note is here so that you can make an informed decision. When a Trip Leader isn't personally familiar with a trip, there is an increased chance of things not going as planned and you need to be prepared. The Trip Leader may have additional details in the itinerary.

Itinerary:

This might be listed as a "Biking" event but this is technically NOT just any biking event...it is the Murder Creek Gravel Grinder. Best suited for attack while on a proper gravel bike, CX bike (maybe a mountain bike if the gearing is favorable).

The 39 mile Murder Creek & 60 mile Double Murder gravel routes meander through pecan groves and past country churches on the rolling back roads of middle Georgia's Jasper County. The start is less than an hour from downtown Atlanta but it feels a world apart.

This is the 39-miler in a clockwise fashion with a few extra miles thrown in to include some of the good stuff of the 60-miler Double version...and personal preferences.

If you want to ride fast in the dirt, gravel (and yes, some roads)  this is for you!
If you love drilling a dirty big ring, this IS for you

If you don't mind trading flesh with trees, rocks, gravel and/or dirt this is for you
If you like getting off the full "exploratory" effect, this is for you (even tho I have the turnXturn downlaoded thru RWGPS.
If you have more energy than sense, this is probably for you too
If you're scared to ride on a mix of streets, muddy, clay or dirt roads, this is NOT for you

If you have to ask what a CX or gravel bike is, this is not for you.

Oh, we plan on jumping over to the World Famous "Sac-O-Suds" off of GA16 for a funny photo op with Marisa Tomei - LOL :)
