Itinerary:

Let's explore Hickory Log Creek Reservoir!  I recently discovered this little gem of a lake that's not too far from home.  It's a calm and peaceful place to paddle with no power boats to dodge and a pretty much unmolested shore line all around.  In my recent visit I did not go all the way to the dam, but that is what we will be doing on this trip.  It have posted this as an Exploratory Event for that reason so please read the entire itenerary.

We will paddle somewhere between 7 to 9 miles total depending on how many coves we explore.  Going straight to the dam and back looks like approximately 7 miles.  I have put a 3 hour time on this event, but please bear in mind that we may go slightly under or over if we are all feeling good and enjoying the paddle.

We will meet at the only boat ramp on the lake.  There is plenty of room to park and you can drive right to the ramp to offload your kayak before parking.  There is a single porta potty on site, but the condition may be questionable so plan accordingly.

There is a $5 parking fee.  Bring cash or a check for the fee.  There is a drop box with envelopes for payment next to the boat ramp.
