Itinerary:

This is the rescheduling of an event. Spectacular scenery awaits along the trail from Amicalola Falls to the Len Foote Hike Inn! This early, it should be cool when we start out, so you may want to carry a light jacket.

We'll start at the top of the falls parking lot and take the Len Foote Trail to the Hike Inn.  This hike is less challenging than taking the Appalachian Approach Trail to the Len Foote Lodge, but it does have climbs though not as long and steep as those on the Approach Trail. Along the way, we will ascend 2200 vertical feet.  We will not be on a speed hike, but you should be confident that you can maintain a steady pace up steep ascents with minimal time for breaks in order to keep up with the group.

A moderate pace will get us to the Hike Inn around 10:30 AM for a break. Usually, the Hike Inn allows hikers to use their restrooms but be prepared if that is not the case.  Sometimes drinks and snacks are available in the dining room, and if you take one they appreciate a cash tip.

After our break, we'll return by the same route using the scenic Len Foote Hike Inn trail. Along the way, we may stop for a lunch break or snacks.

Option to carpool or meet at the event.  Remember the $5.00 fee for parking, or bring your State Parks annual pass.
