This note is here so that you can make an informed decision. When a Trip Leader isn't personally familiar with a trip, there is an increased chance of things not going as planned and you need to be prepared. The Trip Leader may have additional details in the itinerary.

Itinerary:

Join us as we padle the beautiful Toccoa River from Curtis Switch Park in Blueridge area to McCaysville City Park (Thank you Heidi!).  We'll be starting late enough to allow for an early lunch or late breakfast in Downtown Blueridge or Maccaysville anywhere you like. :)

Fall is a great time of year to paddle! The water is chilly, but the scenery is beautiful! Your leaders have paddled the section previous to this section but are new to this particular stretch. The literature found online makes it sound like a fairly tame section with dam releases dictaing water levels. We'll Hope for the Best!

***   PFDs ARE REQUIRED TO BE ON YOUR BOAT / BODY AT ALL TIMES - NO PFD - NO PADDLE

We'll meet at Curtis Switch park, unload our boats, and then run a shuttle to McCaysville City park.
