Itinerary:

:Let’s hike at Kennesaw Mountain National Battlefield Park, doing a 7.5 mile, circle around the base of Kennesaw and Little Kennesaw mountains.  Our hike Will NOT be going over the mountain.  We will use a combination of official and unofficial trails to complete our trek in about 3 hours.  The terrain is not difficult and we will be moving at a 2.5 to 3 MPH pace.

We will meet at the Burnt Hickory Road / Pigeon Hill parking lot near the kiosk at the top of the lot. Please arrive a few minutes early.   Note there are no bathrooms at this parking lot so plan accordingly.

Parking is now $5 at Kennesaw Mountain NBP or use of an annual pass (Kennesaw Mt NBP specific or annual or lifetime America The Beautiful National Park passes).  You can pay for parking either at the KMNBP visitors center or online at Recreation.Gov.  There are no parking kiosks in the Burnt Hickory/ Pigeon Hill lot.

We will start our hike by heading up Pigeon Hill which will get our hearts going.  Using the Pigeon Hill Cutoff and Brumby Trail, we will begin making our way to the Kennesaw Mountain Visitor Center.  After a quick water/bathroom break, we will start out the 24 Gun Battery trail, the newest trail in the park.  After crossing Gilbert road, we will be using several  trails for the remaining 3 miles of our trek, arriving back at the Burnt Hickory parking lot and completing our circle around the Mountain.
