“Nothing compares to the simple pleasure of riding a bike.” — John F. Kennedy.

A WINTER SPIN!

This is a  very popular thirty-five mile round trip bike ride that takes in many scenic, and shady green covered features of the Silver Comet. The Silver Comet is a paved rails-to-trail bike trail from Smyrna to the Alabama line.

Our ride will begin at Tara Drummond Trailhead near Dallas, ride to Rockmart and back. Breaks can vary from 10-15 minutes.

We will pedal at a moderate pace of around 14-17 mph or faster (You can pick and choose your own riding pace - fast, casual, etc.), so with some breaks and some pics, expect to spend about  4 +/- hours of pedaling fun and healthy exercise on this biking event. You will feel great you did it!

Please arrive a little early to prepare for the ride and make introductions before we hit the trail at 11:00AM. We look forward to seeing you for a great ride!

OUR RIDE

We will ride out an dback for a total of 35 miles.  This section of the Silver Comet includes the Pumpkinvine Trestle bridge, the Bushy Mountain tunnel, Paullding Forest and Coots Lake.  This section should be less crowded than the more commonly used parts of the Silver Comet.  We will regroup in Rockmart where there are bathrooms and take a short break before pedaling back to Tara Drummond.

1. HELMET REQUIRED TO BE WORN - NO HELMET, NO BIKE RIDE, BYE...BYE
