Itinerary:

Let's go check out this new path in N Dekalb!  It will be a nice way to spend some time on a Monday evening.  The vision for the Peachtree Creek Greenway (PCG) is that it will eventually connect Atlanta, Brookhaven, Chamblee, Unincorporated DeKalb County, and Doraville. Currently it stretches 1.3 miles from North Druid Hills Road to Briarwood Road in Brookhaven.  (This is the North Fork of Peachtree Creek - those who have been to the path between Mason Mill and Medlock parks have visited the South Fork.)

We will start at the Briarwood Rd end.  If you are familiar with the REI on the I-85 access road between Clairmont and N Druid Hills Rd, Briarwood Rd is the street that runs beside REI, between the southbound access road and Buford Highway.  The PCG has it's own parking lot, where we will meet.  We'll do quick introductions right at 5:30 and set off, returning right around sunset.  I am bringing my friendly 50lb husky mix Layla.  I would love to have up to 2 more dogs, so I'll welcome the first 2 that I get an email or text about from participants who have signed up for the event.

We will walk the full length of the path - all 1.3 miles of it, lol - to its current end at N Druid Hills Rd, and then we will turn around and come back.  We will keep a leisurely pace, 2.5-3 mph, so anticipate the walk being approximately 1hr.  Please note this is Exploratory!  I have not been there yet. I make no promises that this path will be fun or pretty or have only good smells.  I do have high hopes, however.  My understanding is that it is paved the whole way with little to no elevation gain.  Please visit the city of Brookhaven's website for more information:  https://peachtreecreek.org/
