Itinerary:

Join us on this fast paced, double mountain pass, journey through the park. We will begin our adventure at the Burnt Hickory Parking lot. Get there early to ensure a spot. Make sure you have a parking pass.

We will head over the mountain first while it is the least busy. We will take a quick stop for a bio break at the visitor center, then head back over both mountains and arrive back at the cars. You can re-stock or drop off anything you need at this point or have a snack while others are doing this.

With the majority of our climbing done for the day after we scale the two mountains twice, we will hit the afterburners and begin the fast (3.0+ mph) portion of the hike. We will make our way to the Hardage Mill Trail to the Cease Fire Trail, followed by the Kolb Farm Loop and back to the cars.

Please bring lunch or snacks as we will not be stopping at Kroger or Subway but rather eating lunch on the trail most likely at the Illinois monument.

KM now requires a fee for parking. See the link below to obtain a pass prior to the hike. You must do this as there is no way to get one at the parking lot.
