Itinerary:
This event is rated D5 for elevation gain, distance, and pace. It requires recent AOC D4/D5 experience to participate.

It's going to be a great day on Saturday for a mild winter hike with temps in the mid 30s to mid 40s.

This hike at Kennesaw Mountain combines an out-and-back over the mountain with a loop of the park's central section plus a foray to the Illinois Monument in the park's southern section, giving us about 13 miles and 2,700 feet of elevation gain.

This is an easier D5 in a populated in-town location, so it may be ideal for someone looking to step-up from a D4 to a D5. We'll aim for an overall pace of 2.5 mph, so we'll be moving at 3+ mph at times but take it slower during the steeper ascents and descents.

This is NOT a self-paced hike, we'll hike as group.
