Itinerary:

We will start at the top of the falls on the AT Approach Trail and make our way over Frosty Mountain and Springer Mountain where we will intersect the BMT and make our way to the Owens Overlook.  This overlook is too often overlooked, and it is quite nice. In fact, it is a great place to stop for lunch and enjoy the views.

After lunch, we will retrace our steps back to our cars. We will NOT BE TAKING THE LEN FOOTE TRAIL to the lodge.

This is a difficult hike and we will be maintaining an average pace of 2.5 mph (high-moderate pace). but slower during steeper ascents and descents. Recent, high D5 or D6 experience is required to join the fun. Stops will be quick for water and snacks and a longer lunch stop on the overlook.
