This note is here so that you can make an informed decision. When a Trip Leader isn't personally familiar with a trip, there is an increased chance of things not going as planned and you need to be prepared. The Trip Leader may have additional details in the itinerary.

Itinerary:

James H. "Sloppy" Floyd State Park is located in NW Georgia and is seldom visited by the AOC. Let's change that by hiking up the spine of the park on the Pinhoti Trail.

This hike is pretty close to home and is filled with ridge line views and gentle climbs. This trek starts at the Mack White USFS parking area and meanders its way to the turnaround point of my Pinhoti Section 21 hike. Rumor has it that some old growth trees can be spotted on this ridge line and we will be on the lookout for those. We will find a scenic spot to stop for lunch. The topography will allow us to move at a fast pace (not as fast as last time) of around 3 mph.

Recent D5 experience is required to join the fun. Under experienced hikers will be moved to the waitlist to be evaluated by the trip leader.
