Itinerary:

Sunrise at summit and hike around - Stone Mountain - Fall Colors

Let's greet together some of the latest of the year sunrises, possibly hike up on Full Moon shine, and enjoy beatiful fall colors while hiking around this natural wonder place!

We will meet and start our hike at the Confederate Hall Parking Lot (close to restrooms). From there we will take the Walk Up Mountain Trail to the Summit of Stone Mountain. There we will have 15-25 min brake to enjoy the sunrise, have breakfast/snacks, photos taking. Then we will go down the same trail until we intersect Cherokee Trail. We will take Cherokee Trail on the right, going clockwise, and make a loop around the stone, enjoying views around the lake. Then we will get back to parking. For the loop around we will be hiking on Cherokee, Connecting, and Nature trails.

Before signing up make sure you are comfortable hiking on rocky and at spots - wet, slippery rocky surfaces. We will hike with moderate pace (approximately 2.5 miles per hour) with few stops to enjoy scenery. The total hike distance will be around 7.3 miles, with about 800 feet of elevation gain.
