Although the trip is meant for pure beginners, any kayaker who has a reasonable roll and has experience running Class III whitewater is welcome to come along. Please contact Udo Licht directly at: udolicht@yahoo.com, stating experience, and do not sign up for a beginner spot below.

On the river, Udo Licht will give a 1-hour instruction on basic kayak techniques (safety, how to read the water, river features, basic kayak moves, etc). We will then kayak till approx 4 pm, with a half-hour lunch stop. We should be back in Atlanta by approx 6 pm.

IMPORTANT DISCLAIMER: The trip leader is not a certified instructor. You are solely responsible for your own safety. We will be using Ďrealí performance kayaks (sit-inside) and a spill will cause you to hang upside down in the water (possibility of striking/pinning on rocks). You must be prepared to perform the correct procedures to exit the boat and get yourself to safety.
