Itinerary:
Moderate to Very Strenuous (3 miles)

From the Visitor center, well hike to North Wallenda Tower and enjoy the view of the Gorge from the top, then hike briefly along the North Rim Trail, to the entrance to the long steps going down to the cable bridge, well cross over the bridge to the otherside, and then take the other steps down to the bottom, at the bottom we need to take our shoes off, since we will be in the knee deep water, from the bottom, well carefully hop a cross to the other side, well take a brief break here to put our shoes back on. from here to the sliding rock is only 3/4 of a mile but since the terrain is strenuous, it will feel a lot longer, well carefully hike down the river, youll see many breath taking views of several waterfalls, and the view looking up the gorge walls, when we get to the sliding rock area, well have lunch break and for people who want to experience sliding rock can change into a swimming cloth and slide in to a small pool of water below, after the sliding fun, well cross the river to the other side, depending on the amount of water, you may be in ankle deep water or thigh high water (approx 20 feet across), once we get across, well climb a very steep hill (approx 1/4 mile) to the parking lot on the top, and we will hike below the power line briefly on to South Rim trail, and back to our cars. Youll get to see the Tallulah Falls Dam from above, and views of the gorge on the way back.

Although this is distant looks short, but it will feel a lot longer. Afterwards, if you want to hike more we can add 3 miles of Shortline (easy to moderate) trail by the Tallulah Falls Lake area
