Itinerary:
Our hike will follow parts of Nature Creek Trail and Whippoorwill Lake Trail, and return to the starting point along the paved bicycle path for a total walking distance of around four miles. If you want to stay for lunch, there will also be time available for a visit to some of the Garden's attractions,  or to walk on another trail, since closing time is 5 PM. It is better to plan having lunch at a restaurant, since it may be too chilly for a picnic. This event will not be cancelled in case of rain, since there is plenty to do indoors.

How to Get There:
Event Directions:Proceed South on Interstate 85 until Interstate 185. Continue south on Interstate 185 until Exit 34/GA 18. At the top of the ramp turn left (East) on GA 18. After about 6.7 miles you will see an entrance to Callaway Gardens on your right. At that point, GA 18 transitions into GA 354. Continue straight on GA 354 until you reach US27. Turn right onto US27 and proceed a few miles. The Inn will be on your left, accross from another entrance to the Gardens. Here we will meet with participants in the Overlook Loop hike.

Carpool Cost: Estimated cost per vehicle for this event is $56.00 using a reimbursement rate guideline of $0.400 per mile. The total amount should be divided by the number of people in the vehicle, including the driver. This is a guideline, not a rule, for drivers but the cost should not be higher unless there are extenuating circumstances.
