Itinerary:
Easy approx. 4 miles, Approx. 100ft total elevation gain

An easy beginner friendly hike, along a beautiful 260-acre Yargo lake, at Fort Yargo State Park. Unluckily some horrible person has burned down the old historical fort, and its not available to see it. But the hike is quite delightful, majority of the trail goes along the lake, with a long footbridge that takes us across the Yargo Lake to the other side... (I did this hike in February, when the old Fort was still standing, a bit chilly but it was a easy fun hike)

Required Items to Bring:
Plenty of sports drink (Gatorade or Powerade), water is good but it doesnt replenish electrolytes, or my mixture is lemonade with sea salt. You can keep it in a bottle or hydration device like Camelbak, but you can get a inexpensive Outdoor products brand hydration device for $8-$10 at your local Target or Wal-mart. Trekking pole is great help when hiking, if effectivly used, 30% of your body weight will be transfered over to the trekking pole, thus making it easier to hike. Lunch and snacks, well be having lunch on the dam, over looking a beautiful view of the Yargo Lake. Hat for shade and bugs, often protects you from bugs and other things falling from trees. A good tennis shoes or your favorite hiking shoes, since the trail is quite easy, if you dont have a hiking shoes, dont worry. Disposable rain poncho or your favorite gortex rain gear, for unexpected shower or storm.
