Easy to moderate 7.5 miles rating definitions My hikes are more leisurely....with plenty of breaks for water and snacks....if you are fast hiker and wants to hike fast, or power hiker, this may not be the hike for you.

We will be hiking the ever popular Cochran Shoals trail, but no worries, well be hiking on the hiking on nature trail and hiking trail away from the fitness trail, the trail is mainly in the wooded area and several hundred feet of incline, well hike from the parking lot to paper mill ruin, well have lunch at the ruin on the river.

Required Items to Bring:
Plenty of water (2 litters minimum). Good Hiking shoes. Trekking pole, youll be so glad. (you can buy a good trekking pole at walmart for $9.00) and RAIN GEAR you might not need one, but when the rain comes youll be so glad you have one. Backpack would be better than a small fanny pack. Try to dress warm in layers. Please DO NOT forget your lunch and water.

Chattahoochee National Recreation Area, 404-399-80 10:30 am Cochran Shoals East side of the river parking lot (near powers island) off Interstate North Parkway, please use the parking lot on the East side of the river. From Hotel Go East on Windy Hill Road, turn right on Powers Ferry Rd., turn left on to interstate North Parkway (just before you go under I-285), when you cross the river the parking lot is immedeately on the left.

Notes:

Are Dogs Permitted? Yes, but make sure your dogs can hike the entire 7.5 miles. Please make sure your dog is on a 6 foot leash at all times.

Will this event occur rain or shine? No, no hiking in the rain.

NOTE: Please be considerate of others. If you sign-up and cannot attend, please e-mail the trip leader, so others that may be on a waiting list may attend.
