Thursday morning we will put in at the Suwannee Canal recreation area. We will paddle on the orange trail. This follows the historic Suwannee Canal, which was dug in the late 1800’s in an attempt to drain the swamp. We then will turn onto the purple trail. This trail winds through the Chase Prairie, leading to the Round Top Shelter, which offers a 360-degree view of the prairie. This will be our overnight site. Friday morning after breaking camp, we will paddle on the purple trail to the blue trail. The blue trail skirts the edge of the Chase Prairie. Continuing onto the Canal Run Shelter. After spending the night at this shelter, we will paddle back to Suwannee Canal recreation area via the Suwannee Canal on the orange trail.

NOTE: Due to limited space at the overnight sites, sharing of tents will be needed. This is a pack it in pack it out trip.
