Strenuous due to steep elevation gain

After rest stop we will travel to Trail Head the trail is 5 miles. With elevation gain of 3000 feet the fist mile is very steep and then with gradual gain for the next 3 miles with the last mile very steep (almost straight up) We will intersect with the Appachian Trail and head north to the summit Cheoah Bald whre we will have a much need rest and lunch After lunch and rest we will head back down the same trail to our cars if you have bad knees this hike is not for you.

North Carolina Meet at the rest stop before the parking lot and the trail head Travel I-595 North to Hwy 60 North and it will pickup Hwy 129 and 19 We will travel North on Hwy 129 to Nantahala Forest and River to Rest stop and then to parking area and Trail Head
