Itinerary:
We will walk the Laurel Ridge Trail in the counterclockwise direction, with a side trip to the bottom of the dam and a pedestrian bridge over the Chattahoochee, for a total distance of a little over 4 miles. This trail offers nice views of the dam, the river, and Lake Lanier, so you may want to bring your camera.

At about three and a quarter miles we will come to a public beach on Lake Lanier. We will take a long break there and we can wade into the water and swim. At this time of the year the water is very comfortable: cool and refreshing.  There is a restroom there too for you to change in and out of your swimsuit if you would like to.

Then we will get back on the trail for the last mile and a quarter back to the cars. We should be finished by 8:30 pm at the latest and probably a good bit earlier than that.

There is a moderate amount of elevation change on this one..probably about 500-600 feet along the entire route, but we will be walking at a moderate pace.
