Itinerary:

This is the first day of a series of hikes - - two per day - - for five consecutive days = 2x5!  Please hop onto any of the hikes that appeal to you.  You don't have to do all of them!  However, if you can do them all, you'll be doing a total of 10 hikes for the week - - some great outdoor exercise with good AOC friends.

For this hike, we'll park at the Visitors' Center, way down the road from the entrance to the park. If it's your first visit to this parking lot, no - - you have not gone too far!   Bathroom facilities are available here, and annual CNRA park passes can be purchased. If you plan to do much hiking in the area, the $25 annual fee is a bargain.  If you do not have an annual pass, the fee for the day's parking at this location is $3.00. Please have cash handy and allow time to buy your day-pass before the hike.

We will do this tried and true trail as a brisk, heart-pumping morning workout. We'll rest from time to time if necessary, otherwise we'll use our time to move along. We'll be treated to beautiful forests as well as breathtaking views of the river.

If you bring your dog, it should be able to keep up with the group and interact well with other dogs and people. The Chattahoochee NRA requires that owners keep their dogs on a leash and clean up after their pets on the trails. Dogs off leash have been known to stir up yellow jackets, resulting in painful stings to both nearby hikers and the dogs themselves.

The weather looks dry for Monday morning, with temperatures in the high 60's when the hike starts.
