Itinerary:
This hike will cover around 10 miles over varied terrain from flat to steep and very rocky. You must be in good condition, and have very good balance walking over and on top of rocks.

We will be hiking the Fiery Gizzard Loop Trail beginning at Grundy Forest State Natural Area. We will descend into the river gorge and hike about 1.7 miles along the river until we reach the Dog Hole Trail branch where we will ascend to the top of the ridge and continue approximately 3 miles to Raven Point. Here we will take a brief break before a steep descend back into the river gorge where we will follow the river for 4.5 miles back to the trailhead.

The trail along the river is very scenic with numerous falls and cascades as well as areas called Crumbling Bluff, The Fruit Bowl and Chimney Rock. It is also very rocky. In many sections we will literally be hiking on the rocks so good balance is required.
