Itinerary:
Easy to Moderate approx. 5 Mile

Beginners backpacking trip not all that far from Atlanta (only about an hour drive to the trail), well be hiking approx 1.5 miles to the campsite, near beautiful Cartecay river, and spend a night at this site, then after breakfast, well finish the loop trail back to our cars. Every time Ive been on this trail, I always thought this would be a great beginners backpacking trail. The trail consists of beautiful scenic Rich Mountain WMA, and the scenic Cartecay River trail, then a small area where the weeds grow taller than my height (Im 6 foot)... many wildflowers and small to medium sized animals in the area. If its warm its also a great swimming spot.

If you do not have specific gear, please email the trip leader in case he knows an AOC member with gear you can borrow.
