Itinerary: | |||||||
Easy One of favorite pioneer camping sites in 2005, join us as we once again head to Elijah Clark State Park for pioneer camping on Clarks Hill Lake. Located on the lake, pioneer camping at Elijay Clark is all about relaxation. Enjoy three days of sun, water, food and new friends. Our campsite has a large pavilion with picnic tables, running water and a comfort station just a short walk away. Bring your water wings and swan floats cause we are right on the lake so there will be lots of swimming and sunning...and yes, moonlight swimming too. Located on the western shore of 70,000-acre Clarks Hill Lake (the largest man-made lake east of the Mississippi River), this park is named for a frontiersman and Georgia war hero who led pioneers during the Revolutionary War. A renovated and furnished log cabin museum displays furniture, utensils and tools circa 1780. The park also has fishing, swimming, a beach, miniature golf and three and ½ miles of hiking. NOTE: In an effort to be more environmentally friendly, the AOC will no longer use styrofoam plates or plastic cups. We will recycle all plastics, bottles and cans during our events. Further, the AOC will provide everyone reusable plates, bowls, etc. We ask for everyone to bring their own drinking CUP/MUG to wash & reuse during the event. | |||||||
