Itinerary:

NOTE: My hikes are more leisurely 1.5 to 2 miles an hour....with plenty of breaks for water and snacks....if you are fast hiker and wants to hike fast, or power hiker, this may not be the hike for you.

From the visitor center we will walk down to the canyon and well walk along all the canyons (they all have a different scenery) and then off to the trail, well briefly walk on a shallow river bed, and then in to the forrest. walking on the trail youll find some trails of Armadillo, well pass 3 primitive campsites, and well gradually go up hill and well have our first look of the canyon from the top. (Youll see a stop sign) well have lunch here since its quite scenic. From there well go down the trail briefly and back up again walking along a breathtaking view of the canyon on your left side. soon youll come to an area where there is abandoned cars youll see some of trees growing out of the car, from there well hike along the canyon edges (dont worry there is a nice wooden fence built by the state park) will hike for few more miles enjoying the views and eventually back to the visitor center. (This State Park is still one of my favorites)

If you enjoy nature photography youll enjoy this hike.

Required Items to Bring:
Plenty of water (2 litters minimum). Good Hiking shoes (since we will be working in shallow river bed I recommend water proof shoes or sandals in the area of water). Trekking poles. Backpack would be better than a small fanny pack. Try to dress in layers, last year around this time it was in the mid 70s. Please DO NOT forget your lunch and water.
