Itinerary:

Beginning at the trailhead above the falls, we will hike the AT Approach trail for 4 miles. We will turn onto the Len Foote Trail and hike a mile to Len Foote Hike Inn, where we will stop for a break and to eat a snack/lunch. We will return by completing the loop via the Len Foote trail. We should be back in Atlanta by the mid afternoon.

The hike is approximately 11 miles round trip with a moderate hiking speed and only a few rest breaks. It also has above-average elevation gains. Fast hikers are welcome, but they should wait for the rest of the group at the junctions (unless they know their way very well). You still have to be in shape to do this hike and the Trip Leaders reserve the right to remove anyone from the list who they feel cannot handle it or without recent D4 hiking experience.

Please plan on bringing a snack since we will be dropping by the Len Foote Inn for a break. The Inn will sometimes have some bread, cookies or fruit that you can take in exchange for tips for the Inn employees.  They will have iced tea, lemonade and other drinks. Please don't drink their drinks or eat their food without leaving a proper tip.

There is a $5 parking fee paid at the gate when you come in to Amicalola State Park.
