Itinerary:

Strap on your packs - we are escaping the summer heat and humidity!

This is a two-day backpacking trip, starting from Amicalola Falls to the summit of Springer Mtn. The trip starts at the ranger station at the bottom of Amicalola Falls and follows the Approach Trail to the top of Springer Mtn. Depending on weather conditions (aka thunderstorms), we will camp near the shelter there or descent down into the gap. After a leisurely breakfast on Sunday morning, we will break camp and head back to the cars with a short stop at the Hike Inn.

We will be moving at a fast and steadily pace. There is a possibility to add mileage to the trip by exploring portions of the BTW trail on the other side of Springer Mtn. The trip is not intended for beginners but might offer a good opportunity for folks with prior backpacking experience to test their gear and new gadgets, as well as to get yourself and your drooly hiking companion(s) ready for the upcoming fall season.

Required Items to Bring:
- Basic backpacking equipment (gear list will be distributed to trip participants)
- Tent (we will camp near the shelters but please do NOT plan on sleeping there)
- 1 breakast, snacks for 2 days, 1 dinner
